Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 13th instalment of financial benefits worth Rs 16,800 crore to over eight crore eligible farmers under the flagship PM-KISAN scheme today, Monday, February 27, 2023.

This instalment will provide each eligible landholder farmer with a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each every four months

The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

When PM-Kisan was introduced in February 2019, more than Rs 2.2 lakh crore had been distributed to over 11 crore landholder farmer families across the nation.

In May and October 2022, the 11th and 12th installments of the current financial year’s funding were made available.

Farmers all around the country have already benefited significantly from the PM-Kisan plan, and this next instalment will further increase their incomes and contribute to the growth of the agriculture sector.

To apply for the PM-Kisan scheme, farmers need to have an Aadhaar card and provide details such as their Aadhaar number, mobile number, bank account details, landholding papers, citizenship certificate and income certificate. Farmers can register themselves online on the PM-Kisan portal or through a Common Service Centre (CSC), after which they can check the status of their registration. pm-kisan scheme benefits

The PM-Kisan scheme provides a financial benefit of Rs. 6000 per annum to all landholding farmers' families, payable in three equal instalments of Rs. 2000 each every four months. Eligible farmers must have cultivable land in their name and have completed their PM-Kisan eKYC process by August 31, 2022 to receive the 12th instalment amount. The scheme also aims to supplement the financial needs of farmers in obtaining agriculture inputs for ensuring proper crop health and appropriate yields. On December 25, 2020, Rs.18,000 crores were transferred to 9.5 crore beneficiaries under the scheme.

pm-kisan scheme eligibility

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, all landholding farmers' families are eligible to obtain the benefits. The landholder farmers' family is defined under the scheme guidelines as a family consisting of a husband, wife and minor children who own cultivable land as per the land records of the respective state or UT. Farmers from both rural and urban regions can be enlisted under the Pradhanmantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Institutional landholders, farmer families with one or more members who filed income tax in the previous Assessment Year (AY) or receive a pension of Rs.10,000 or more every month, present or retired officers and employees of state/central government as well as PSUs and government autonomous bodies are excluded from this initiative. There is no distinction between rural and urban cultivable land under the scheme. Thus, both farmers situated in rural and urban areas are covered under the scheme provided that they own cultivable lands.
