"Flagstaff High School Wins First Girls' Basketball Title in 31 Years"

The Flagstaff Eagles girls' basketball team won the Arizona state championship, their first in 31 years, with a 42-36 victory over Seton Catholic Prep in the final.

The Eagles, led by head coach Tyrone Johnson, finished the season with a record of 23-2 and overcame a significant size disadvantage in the final to secure the victory.

Senior guard Sydney Hansen was the standout performer for Flagstaff, scoring a game-high 18 points and hitting several crucial shots down the stretch to seal the win.

The Eagles last won a state championship in 1992 and have been runners-up three times since then, but this year's team was able to break through and bring the title back to Flagstaff.

The win was also a historic moment for girls' basketball in the city, as Flagstaff became the first school to win both the boys' and girls' state championships in the same season.
